Entrepreneur of the month: Kyshana Grunberg
A lot of residents at Student Experience are very entrepreneurial next to their studies in the most diverse markets. An example is 22-year-old Kyshana Grunberg, Business Economics student at the UVA. After her studies she aspires to make her company her full-time job.
Kyshana’s own interest in accessories made her start her own business in it. She felt like there weren’t enough nice accessories and when she wore any she got a lot of compliments about it. Kyshana comes from an entrepreneurial family, even her youngest brother has a startup in the designing industry.
“I sell accessories, jewelry, hats and sunglasses through social media”. Her webshop Ofinie has been online since she was 15, the name Ofinie comes from her own name Kyshana Somaja Ofinie Grunberg. Her main channel is Instagram but the webshop is also active on Facebook and Twitter: ofinie.official.
"I look at my own preferences when buying accessories, but I focus on young-adult women who are trendy and stylish and enjoy pampering themselves”. To stand out from the competition she hopes to create a niche by building a community. “Ofinie is a luxury accessory brand, but at the same time affordable”.
Kyshana hopes to inspire people to dress themselves the way they want to. “My vision for Opinie is to grow into a big brand such as House of CB. Within 5 years I hope to have a physical store in Amsterdam.”
