A look inside at: Vincent de Vries
A lot of Student Experience apartments are the same in size and construction. Yet their interior design can be very different. Practical and cozy or minimal and modern, with second-hand items or everything bought new. In this rubric, we will have a look inside the home of a Student Experience resident every month. Just because it is fun to have a look inside, but also to get inspired. This month we were allowed to look inside 20-year old engineering student Vincent de Vries’ apartment. He lives in a spacious apartment on the 10th floor in Nautique Living.
Vincent studies Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Avans in Tilburg. For his minor and graduation, he has moved to Amsterdam. “I came across Student Experience via friends of mine told me that there are 3 complexes in Amsterdam where you could get your own independent studio for a good price. Then I went on the website and saw that they have a very modern registration system and don’t work with a waiting list.”
“I’ve been living in Nautique Living since February and I’m really liking it here. You get to know a lot of people in the building fast, that way you feel at home quickly. If you put in a little effort to get to know some people, you’ll have a lot of fun neighbors within no-time”. Vincent became a fan of Amsterdam North since he started living in Nautique Living, “there are so many nice hotspots here such as Noorderlicht, de Keuvel, Tolhuistuin and Pllek”.
Vincent used to live in a shared student apartment. “When I found out that I could get my own independent studio for 100 euros more, I went for it directly. I now have my own kitchen and bathroom”. Vincent furnished his room with items from IKEA and furniture he found on Marktplaats.
Vincent’s favorite thing about Nautique Living is the roof terrace on the 14th floor. “You can see the whole city of Amsterdam while enjoying the sun. It is perfect to enjoy a beer or wine, or to practice some sports”
