Student apartments at NDSM-site Amsterdam
In cooperation with Borghese Real Estate and COD, Verweij Mungra Vastgoed is developing a large metropolitan complex at the NDSM-site in Amsterdam. Today at the Provada in the RAI the parties have signed the declaration of intent and have unveiled the maquette.
Real estate developers Verweij Mungra Vastgoed, Borghese Real Estate and COD have recently gained as development group the right to develop a metropolitan and multifunctional complex in the west area of the NDSM-site, located in the north of Amsterdam. The development consists out of 450 homes, 400 student apartments, a hotel, a joint lively courtyard and a parking garage. A total of approximately 70,000 m2.
The construction will be conducted in two phases. Phase 1 consists out of student apartments, a parking garage with communal garden and approximately 250 homes divided into various segments, mostly for starters. Phase 2 involves 200 homes divided into various segments and a hotel with approximately 240 rooms. The start of the construction of Phase 1 is planned for October 2015. The distinctive architecture consists out of two towers with a height of 60 meters, which are made out of robust materials such as weathering steel in the facade.
Bouwinvest is, on behalf of the Residential Fund, the investor of 450 (starter) apartments and the associated parking. The student apartments will be operated by Student Experience (the brand name of Verweij Mungra Vastgoed). This organization already has two other locations in Amsterdam (Ravel Residence and AmstelHome). Several interviews with hotel operators are held, before a final decision will be made.
The design and construction of the entire complex is done in a building team with architect OeverZaaijer, manufacturer Van Rossum Consulting Engineers, installation consultant Hiensch Engineering and constructor Pleijsier Bouw. Also, on behalf of COD, BNP Paribas Real Estate is involved as an consultant.
By using crowdsourcing COD and Bouwinvest ensure that the homes suit the specific demands of the future residents in this area. At the website www.nautique-living.nl, people can register and submit their needs. By fulfilling in the current and upcoming demand of the residents, development can be done in accordance to the sustainable philosophy of COD to make every development 'future proof'.
